Cass City's Campbell students are the greatest!  Throughout the last eleven years, I have had the opportunity to teach in a variety of learning atmospheres.  I've taught 6th & 7th grade special education, 5th-8th grade special education in a self contained room, 3rd grade regular education, 6th grade regular education and now I am teaching K-4 Special Education.  Children learn differently and at different paces.  I feel that I can best facilitate student learning by creating a safe, positive learning atmosphere that allows children to feel success as they learn.

After graduating from Caro High School in 1996, I completed my Bachelor's degree in teaching at Saginaw Valley State University.  With my Bachelor's degree, I also obtained an endorsement for working with children who have emotional impairments.  I completed my student teaching here in Cass City, and then took a 7th grade position at the Caro Middle School.  After a year in Caro, I came back to Cass City and have been here since then.  I love being a Redhawk, and am grateful for the wonderful students, parents, and staff I work with.  Since I began teaching, I have also obtained a Master's degree and an endorsement for working with children who have learning disabilities.  I have served as the middle school Autism Coach for the last two years as well as our district Step Up to Writing trainer. Teaching has always been my dream, and I am so fortunate to be able to fulfill my dream here in Cass City!

I recently moved to Deckerville with my husband and three children.  Kaylyn, Karly & Gabe still attend Campbell Elementary, and I am so grateful for the incredibly wonderful, dedicated teachers they have.  We have two dogs, and we love to camp, play the Wii, read together, and just be together as a family.  I enjoy scrapbooking, running, shopping, and reading in my spare time.  My philosophy in education looks like this:

~ A CHILD'S MIND IS A GIFT WHICH COMES IN DIFFERENT SIZES, SHAPES, AND WRAPPING.  SOME ARE MORE FRAGILE THAN OTHERS.  A TEACHER'S JOB IS TO CAREFULLY OPEN THE GIFT AND PROVIDE MEANINGFUL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR EACH CHILD SO THEY CAN BECOME WELL- ROUNDED, SUCCESSFUL INDIVIDUALS LATER IN LIFE. ~
